50 Cents for the Fox

Stockholm’s Restaurant & Brewery aims to clean up the
Fox River…two quarters at a time

Geneva, Illinois – Stockholm’s Restaurant & Brewery in downtown Geneva will once again launch their “50 Cents for the Fox” initiative starting on Earth Day, April 22, 2023.

Stockholm’s is partnering with The Conservation Foundation in an effort to raise awareness of the importance of clean water in our communities. When a Guest dining at Stockholm’s asks for a glass of water, their server will request a donation for 50 cents. 100% of the monies raised will be donated to The Conservation Foundation; earmarked specifically for clean-up of the Fox River and the land around it.

While the initiative has been on hiatus due to COVID, Stockholm’s raised $4,139.25 for The Conservation Foundation back in 2019 alone. Michael Olesen, owner of Stockholm’s states, “We have raised over $10,000 for The Conservation Foundation in past years. Our goal this season is to raise $5,000 between Earth Day and Halloween, two quarters at a time.”

For over 50 years, The Conservation Foundation has been dedicated to protecting local rivers and watersheds and promoting stewardship of the environment. Stockholm’s supports them in their mission to improve the water quality of the Fox River, preserve the land around it, and help the community enjoy it.
